Running a resale shop is more than just finding clothes and putting them online — it’s a full creative and entrepreneurial process. For me, curating my Depop shop means giving discarded items a second life, transforming thrifted or nearly trashed pieces into styled collections that connect with buyers. It’s about sustainability, creativity, and attention to detail.

Sourcing with Sustainability in Mind

Many of the pieces I start with are items that were about to be thrown away. By rescuing clothing at the edge of the waste stream, I not only reduce textile waste but also give myself a chance to create something new from what others overlooked. Each find is the beginning of a story.

Cleaning, Repairing, and Upcycling

Every piece needs care before it’s ready for photos. I clean, sew, adjust, and sometimes completely upcycle items into something new. Whether it’s fixing a small seam or transforming an oversized shirt into a cropped piece, each adjustment makes the item unique and wearable again.

Styling & Photography

Once the clothes are ready, the real creative work begins. I photograph a large volume of items, making sure each piece is styled in a way that highlights its personality. Photography isn’t just documentation — it’s how I make every listing feel intentional, cohesive, and connected to a larger collection.

Curating Listings & Descriptions

After shooting, I edit and upload each photo one by one. Writing descriptions is about more than size and material — it’s about capturing the style and vibe of each piece so buyers can imagine it in their wardrobe. I use curated keywords and trending style tags to keep my listings relevant and searchable.

Crosslisting Across Platforms

Depop is my main shop, but to maximize reach I also crosslist across other selling platforms. This takes time, but it ensures every piece has the best chance of finding its next owner. Crosslisting helps me grow beyond one audience and create a sustainable resale business.

From Discarded to Desired

From sourcing to styling, the process of curating my shop is hands-on at every step. What starts as discarded clothing becomes a styled, photographed, and marketed piece with a new story. It’s not just resale — it’s sustainable fashion, creative storytelling, and entrepreneurship combined.
